Our Community

Committed to caring for, and being an active part of, our surrounding community

At Ellenville Regional Hospital one of our guiding principles is to be a good neighbor. Our primary mission as a Critical Access Hospital is to provide excellent medical care, but we take that mission even further. In the initiatives outlined below, we take steps to keep our neighbors healthier (through various types of health screening), safer (through sharps collection and defensive driving programs), and by augmenting hospital staff with an active corps of Hospital Volunteers. In our events calendar you can see what’s happening in, around, and for the benefit of ERH. Here are some of our community initiatives:

Blood pressure and glucose screening

The first Wednesday of every month, you can stop in at ERH for free screening of your blood pressure and glucose levels. No registration or sign-up required.

From 9am to 11am, first Wednesday of the month.

For information, please call (845) 647-6400 ext. 226

Community sharps collection

Syringes, needles and lancets used for managing serious health conditions can be safely disposed of through Ellenville Regional Hospital's participating in the Ulster County Sharps Program. We collect used sharps on specific dates, designated by Ulster County. The sharps must be in appropriate puncture-proof containers. We also distribute FREE sharps containers to replace the used ones we accept.

Collection dates for 2015 are on the following Thursdays, from 8am to 2pm at the ERH Employee Health Office:
