Ellenville Regional Hospital Expands Ability to Wirelessly Monitor Patient’s Vital Signs

Innovation Partnership with Mindray Impacts Patient Care

Ellenville, New York – July 31st, 2017 – Ellenville Regional Hospital, a critical access hospital recently recognized by both iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence and quality, announced today that via an innovation partnership with Mindray Medical it has expanded wireless monitoring coverage of admitted patients across the entire facility.

In exchange for providing clinical insight and performance feedback on newly released central monitoring applications, Mindray has extended wireless coverage to encompass the entire facility. Now patient’s vital signs can be remotely monitored at a centralized nursing station while being transported between departments, ambulating on the general care ward to speed recovery, and even within the main hallway of the hospital. In addition, the installation of Mindray’s newly released Central Monitoring Software provides staff with a more user friendly and intuitive clinical interface making admitting patients, interdepartmental transfers, and printing reports effortless.

“Ellenville Regional represents “best in class” nationally for critical access facilities,” stated Kelley Murphy, Strategic Marketing Manager at Mindray. “The organization’s continual drive to innovate and quest to advance clinical excellence combined with a knowledgeable, outgoing staff makes them an obvious choice to gain feedback on new clinical applications.”

“Mindray’s new central monitoring applications have simplified our clinical workflow allowing us to spend more time with patients,” said Ann Marie Guntlow, Chief Nursing Officer. “In addition, with the extended wireless coverage we can now seamlessly monitor our patient’s vital signs no matter their location within the facility, improving outcomes.”

“By the end of July, patient’s vital signs data provided by the monitoring system will also be digitally integrated via Mindray’s eGateway directly into our Athena Health Electronic Medical Record” said Emily Wainwright, Clinical Data Support RN. “This further enhances overall efficiency, eliminates transcription errors and provides a comprehensive overview of patient status. “

Wayne Quinn, President of Mindray North America, stated, “We are delighted that Ellenville Regional has chosen to partner with us. The candid feedback from their staff has been invaluable to our development team.” “We are proud to have contributed to Ellenville’s goal to be the ‘best small hospital in America,’” he added.
