AANP Announces Fellows for 2014

Robert D. Donaldson, NP-C

The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) recently selected 76 nurse practitioner (NP) leaders for induction into FAANP. Included in this induction was Robert D. Donaldson NP-C, Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine at Ellenville Regional Hospital since 2008. Working full time in that Emergency Department since 2004, he was elected by the medical staff to be the President of the Medical Staff in 2009 and has been reelected to that position twice. In 2011 Mr. Donaldson was nationally recognized for his work at Ellenville Regional Hospital by Health Leaders Media as “One of 20 people Who Make Healthcare Better” in America and in February of 2014 was an invited speaker, along with ERH President and CEO Steven Kelley, at The American Hospital Association’s Rural Hospital Conference in Phoenix Arizona, to discuss their successes at that hospital.

The new FAANP members  will continue the tradition of impacting national and global health through their outstanding contributions. They were inducted at a ceremony held on Thursday, June 19, 2014, during the AANP National Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. AANP established the FAANP program in 2000 to recognize nurse practitioner leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through clinical practice, research, education, or policy. Fellows of AANP are visionaries and, as such, hold an annual think tank to strategize about the future of nurse practitioners and health care. The new Fellows will continue to demonstrate leadership and contribute to the mission of AANP.
